Special Announcement! Introducing Workforce Wellbeing: Under Construction: a six-week series

We are excited to announce a six-week learning series focusing on Wellbeing in the Workforce. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of wellbeing for themselves, their business, and the workforce ecosystem. They will also learn how to design programs and projects utilizing established wellbeing design principles.

Series Details:

  • Start Date: April 24, 2025
  • End Date: May 29, 2025
  • Sessions: Six sessions, with a certificate awarded upon completion of all six sessions. Individual make-up sessions can be arranged, but the beauty of learning is in the process. Begin and end with a cohort to get the most out of this unique experience.

Special Event: One week following the conclusion of this series will be the MUS Convening in Milwaukee, WI, where you will meet Eric Shepherd, author of Talent Transformation and CEO of the company with the same name. Mr. Shepherd, deeply involved in wellbeing work as it contributes to workforce, will share his experiences as he will be our keynote speaker at the convening. Please join us!  (note:  First 50 registrants for the convening will get an autographed copy of Mr. Shepherd’s book!)

Facilitator: This series will be facilitated by MUS’s own Kellie Landaker. Kellie began her wellbeing work in 2016 when the Full Frame Initiative (FFI) started collaborating with the Family Court of St. Louis County. The Family Court partnered with FFI to examine the processes and forms used in the family court system to ensure the wellbeing of those involved.

Kellie's Journey: Kellie led the initiative in the juvenile detention center, ensuring that the young people housed there understood the Five Domains of Wellbeing. She worked to ensure that policies, procedures, and forms supported the wellbeing of the kids and families connected to the juvenile detention center. As an administrator of the center, Kellie collaborated with FFI staff and design, and implementation committees comprised of detention center staff.

It became clear to Kellie, the detention staff, and the residents that understanding these domains of wellbeing and viewing the kids in their own full frame, not looking at them just as delinquents, changed the actual work. Staff developed new tools and methods for interacting with and supporting the kids. Compassion for the youth grew among the staff. Those who truly embraced the initiative learned that honoring the wellbeing of the youth made their jobs easier because the youth were much more responsive.

MUS and Wellbeing: In 2023, Kellie joined MUS. She introduced MUS administration to the Full Frame Initiative with the idea of viewing the workforce through a wellbeing lens. MUS embraced the idea and featured FFI staff at the convening in Cleveland, where FFI, assisted by Kellie and Carolyn Harper, presented the concepts of centering our work in the community. The keynote speech and subsequent community centering activity were a big hit with our partners, who produced some amazing illustrations of centering the work in the community.

MUS participated in FFI’s Wellbeing Design Challenge and has replicated it twice for our partners. This series is related to the Wellbeing Design Challenge with significant expansions into other frameworks.

FFI Update: In up-to-date news, FFI as an entity is sunsetting and will no longer function as an agency promoting a fair shot at wellbeing. However, the CEO, Katya Fels Smith, has done a phenomenal job in ending FFI responsibly. She is forming a group of Champions who will carry on the work of wellbeing. Leading the Champions will be a small coalition of Stewards who will be the keepers of the charge, with access to a rich repository of over 15 years of wellbeing work done by FFI. MUS is proud to announce that Kellie has been asked to be both a Champion and a Steward.
